Introducing handles: A new way to identify your YouTube channel
YouTube serves as a community and home base for many producers, not merely a venue to publish and comment on videos. That's why we're launching handles today, a brand-new method for users to discover and interact with YouTube artists and one another. Every channel will have a distinctive handle, making it simpler for fans to find content and communicate with their favourite producers.

Handles will display on channel sites and Shorts, making them easily and consistently identifiable. Soon, mentioning one another in comments, community postings, video descriptions, and other places will be easier and quicker. A shout-out in a remark or tagging in the name of a recent collaboration, for instance, can help creators gain more exposure and reach out to new audiences. Channel names and handles are both ways to recognise a YouTube channel, but handles are really unique to each channel, allowing artists to further build their own presence and identity on the platform
We will let creators know over the course of the following month when they may select a handle for their channel. Most of the time, if a channels already has a personal URL, it will become their standard handle by default; however, they can choose to change it as soon as the notice in YouTube Studio arrives.
